Sometimes the best made plans are the ones we didn't make!!

The other day I was writing in my journal and was thinking about when I was younger I had an idea of how my life would be, what kind of mom I would be, where I would live... I thought I had it all planned out. Well, things didn't go exactly as planned- they turned out better.
I didn't plan on serving a mission, but I did. I never thought I would ever travel outside the US, but I did. I didn't think I would return to my mission where I served, but I did and I met the most amazing man who became my husband. I didn't think I would have such a short engagement, but I did. I never thought I would live very far from my family, let alone Canada, but I am. I didn't think I would have a child with physical problems, but I do and I'm so thankful she is doing so good. I didn't think I would have 4 children so close together, but I did. I didn't think I could ever be so blessed, but I am. Heavenly Father had a different plan, then the one I had when I was 20- It was a better one. He knows me and loves me and has blessed my life so much. I have such a wonderful husband and 4 beautiful healthy children. I have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and was raised by loving parents who taught me well. Who could ask for more? On the days that seem a bit gloomy I just have to think of the many blessings in my life, and remind myself of how lucky I am!

A New Year!

Well, I must say I was a slacker and didn't do Christmas cards. I was having a hard time bringing myself to do them. Much has happened this past year and we have much to look forward to this new year. We had a fun christmas and I think I was the most spoiled- I finally got my new couches. We also got our fireplace finished, finally, and it looks fantastic.
Probably the biggest on our list is the new addition that will be coming to our family in
February. We are excited fro his arrival, but we're still stuck on coming up with a name, or should I say agreeing on a name. This year we're also planning a family trip to Utah. It's always fun once we get there but the drive down and back always seem long for some reason.
We've also set some other personal goals to work toward and hope to accomplish, but I feel like I'm always resetting the same goals. Maybe I should set different goals or smaller goals to make it easier to reach the goals I'm resetting. Well, there's always something.

2 on 2

Well as most of you have heard we are welcoming Baby #4 into our family. Tyrell and I had a bit of a debate on whether or not to find out the gender of our little one, and of course I won. I figured I needed to know so I could have a name picked out. We have no problem coming up with girl names, but boy names- that's another story. I just wanted to be prepared with a name so if it was a boy he wouldn't be stuck with Baby Boy for 6 months. And sure enough we're having another baby boy, hopefully by the time he arrives we will have agreed on a name for him. We're pretty excited to have 2 girls and 2 boys, now Quentin will have someone to run around with. According to the ultrasound he's doing well with no problems. His due date is 24 Feb 2011, he'll be here in no time at all.

Summer updates

Well we've had lots going on so far this summer, mostly playing. We've gone camping and fishing and the girls absolutely loved that. It's nice their getting older and actually enjoy camping and fishing and it's not so much of a chore. Quentin's just excited to be outside to play. The girls loved playing in the water- at the lake, the spray park, and even in our own sprinkler and little pool. We've also gone to the park lots. Tyrell's been doing some work on the basement, trying to finish the one side, but it's on hold for a little bit. Our lawn is coming in nice and some weeds are coming in with it, just can't get rid of those.

Ashlyn and Tia playing in the sprinkler.

Quentin's first birthday!! Mmmm.... cake!!
Camping at Ansus lake-
Tia playing in the water, she would live in her swimsuit if I let her.

Ashlyn fishing- she's actually caught several.
She's starting to be a lot of fun to take out in the boat.

Quentin throwing rocks in the water. Too cold to get wet.

We had to break open the chips while waiting for dinner.
Here are a couple morning pictures of our lovely bedhead.
I think Ashlyn is taking the pictures .

Sheesh, my face looks really dirty.

Quentin playing in the tent.

Ashlyn playing in the water waiting for Tyrell to fix the boat.

Happy Birthday Tia!!!

Yesterday, Tia turned the big 3!! She was so excited that it was her birthday. She helped me make her cake (she mainly ate the frosting at extra cake) and she even picked the colors for the frosting. She was so excited for it. Her cake was french vanilla with mixed berries and vanilla pudding for the filling. It was Yummy! We invited Grandma and Grandpa Arnold over to celebrate her special day. Time goes by fast and kids don't stay little very long, enjoy each day. I'm so thankful to have this little girl in my life!!
